Idea!

how about i just make my own cold air intake? ive seen pics of some and it looks like is simple to make one?what do you think,any ideas?or even taking out the air box and just fitting a filter on the end of the snorkle and securing it?

Lots of people have done it. Just some tubing and a cone filter really.

my local exhaust shop makes intakes. fairly cheap too.

yeah thats what i was thinking of doing,cause some of those intakes are expensive! ill just make my own thank you very much haha.

If youre interested, i'm about to start working with a guy on some ranger intakes. He is in pasadena and makes the tubes, then uses whatever filter i'd want. We should have it going in the next few weeks, and i can try and get you one to help out with some testing.

yes its washable its a K&N type filter made my S&B

hell ill test one out for ya. i need a new one anyways mine fell off the mounting brackets and the tube caught the pulley and now theres a big gash in it.

lol..... the reason i mentioned was because josh is local and we can actually use his truck...

There will be alot more info once kits come out, and i may be able to do an introductory pricing... we'll see

Well whenever you get the kits together or need a 1999 XLT 3.0 V6 FFV for a tester let me know. I'm in the works for a new intake and I'd be interested in an intake. Keep us posted on the progress, maybe a thread dedicated to the development of the intakes?

I made an intake out of PVC before! It was for some ricer buddy of mine, total cost was like $50. It worked really well too, didn't look half bad either...
