Ok, how yall doin. Ive got a 2000 3.0 rang, love her to death but im lookin to install a glasspack on her or straight pipes.. I threw the straight pipe idea away because the flange on my truck is behind one silencer and the cat so I would have to rmove entire manifold back system, buy a new cat, install 10 feet of pipe yadda yadda so screw that. Next idea was a cherry bomb type glasspack, company doesnt matter, performance in the form of noise does. I found a 30 incher at autozone. Is it true the longer the pack the "rumblyer" the noise? i dont want a pissed off bumble bee noise and ive already done the airbox mod so im just lookin for a good, solid, cheap sound. Is my idea ok or what are your opinions? thanks yall

Get a flowmaster muffler and one or two downturns?? I feel that glasspacks are high school-like

 

if you want it louder than hell glasspack it im tempted to glasspack mine just to wake people up when im delivering pizza's at 1 am

 

flowmaster 44 dumped would be best. maybe delete 1 or 2 of the cats also

 

I think that the cherry bomb name is high schoolish but if i got a 30 inch then it wouldnt be so bad i guess right? it would be deeper? i dont want a little 8inch weiner

 

I put a Hooker areochamber on my old 3.0. It sounded dope, expecially doing 42mph in 3rd gear. It produced a very nice flow tone.

glasspacks are cheap,but you do get what you pay for,i had one on my 4.0 and i hated it,kinda sounded like the hondas during some certain rpms

 

IMO glasspacks sound like **** on anything but an 8cyl

 

glass packs sound like **** PERIOD!!! especially after a few months and everything in side starts to burn and melt it just gets stupid loud

 

use a pvc pipe

 

The point is the muffler sounds ten times better than a glass pack and is inexpensive.
