THEFT PREVENTION SUGGESTION
I Drilled 4 holes thru the bottom of the box and the bed. Welded 4 nuts under the bed. Bolted it down from the inside with rubber washer to seal.

I believe (but not sure) mine is an ammo box off a WW2 ship. All steel.

But if you do that you will have holes in your bed if you remove it. I don't think he wants that.

10-4 on the holes and I understand and it's his rig, of course, but I'll bet a horse turd against a ginger snap he'll never take it off. Mine's been on since 1985 except to paint the rig in 2004. I used never-seize on the threads or it prolly wouldn't a came loose.

you could always drill the holes into the bottom of the box and use longer bed bolts to secure it.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

There are better ways to secure it than drilling holes in the bed. But that is an option.

I thought that box has 6 clamps 3 on each side for the lid. How do you open it with it up against the front of your bed?

If I just undo the latches on the front it basically hinges. Looking at it more I think I might be able to just tack weld the bolts on the back hinges and PRESTO its a hinge.

And yeah I really don't think it's necessary for me to be drilling holes in the bed. Its too new of a truck imo to run the risk of anything rusting up haha. I think the L brackets off of the existing bed bolts will work just fine. And honestly the box and all of its contents now weighs about 200 lbs so I doubt someone gonna run off with it lol

Think I decided on paint scheme. I'm gonna do spray liner on the inside, do the lid in rustoleum hammered finish in gray, bottom half in rustoleum hammered black. Decided that would be the best route as far as rust proofing, looks, and durability.
