idea/question on mirros
idea/question on mirros
I'm wanting to convert all my mirrors to the blue tinted kind like bmw, mercedes and all the other high dollar manufactures.
question is, anyone know where replacement mirrors of that kind are found and how to go about taking apart the mirrors to do so?

The mirrors are glued to a plastic mount, the mount is then either manually movable(ball and cup) or mounted on electric swivel.
The plastic mount can also be heated.
Finding blue tint mirrors the exact size to replace your mirrors would be.................well challenging, lol.
You would break the current mirrors to remove them from the plastic mount then re-glue the new mirror in it's place.
Best bet although not the best result would be to use a tinting material.
Glass tints are meant to be looked through once, with a mirror you are looking through tint material TWICE, this can make the reflected image grainy.
It isn't awful just not crystal clear like a factory tint.

Maybe a good idea to talk to a tint guy usually the high ends only turn that blue at night its to help cut headlight glare on the mirrors. Not sure if anyone makes them for a ranger but id bet a tint shop can order you the right film for it.
