One way to make it look like you have a security system is to put the LED in the door lock. Get your hands on a dummy alarm light and wire it into the door locks instead. Hooked up right and it would show a blinking light. Of course it would blink all the time.

 

true, but my method is even better... i am still waiting on the arrival of my parts from china... should be in any day now... i'll actually call my brother a little later, to see if it got delivered to his place...

 

teaser update! all the items are in! i have the LED's and the the resisters all soldered up to work on 12V, i have to pick up one of the items from my other address... but it is in the right city at least... now all i have to do is buy the wire from a local wire store, i need a length of green, red blue and black wires, even though the red wire and black wires aren't going to be used correctly... and then get my truck back from the body shop and install it all...
