I posted this in the not another light bar section in exterior topics but Im not sure how many people saw it. What do you guys think? waste of time and money or worth a try?

 

waste of time and money IMO...i know a few that have them around here and they are not bright at all and look like a lot of work. I kinda like the open style light bar better.

 

I like the looks of them. I dont like the huge gap between the roof and the light bar...

 

there 55w little lights go buy a 10 mil spot lite and hold it and you would have brighter lighter.. completely pointless

 

well if the lights are weak. Couldn't you just replace them with something that has a higher out put or put in bulbs that are greater than 55w. I think it would be a cool look. I don't really like the raised lightbar either. This would mount them on the roof and would definetly look different. I don't think I will ever put a light bar on my truck however. I don't need to rip it off in the woods.

 

buck, don't get that lightbar. your trucks not a jeep. it's a ranger. besides, those lights in that lightbar were built for daimler corporation. meaning, if one breaks, you'd have to go thru daimler to get a replacement at a horrendous cost. either fab your own up, or get a kc style lightbar that zach has, or a rollbar and put some lights on there.

I am not one to put light bars on my truck, I just came across it and thought it would look better than the huge light bars many people use.

 

That style would look better then having the KC light bar and 6" fogs, sits nicer on the roof.....but that's just my opinion.

 

but I would never spend that much money on those little lights when I could buy all the lights I need that are actually bright and have money left over. Just to expensive IMO.

 

Im sure one could find another source for getting a setup like that. You wouldnt necessarily have to pay that much for it. But IF JUST IF, one wanted to be different, and didnt like the huge one size fits all light bars that are out now this would be a good idea in my opinion...

 

I bet that gettin that plasitc light bar to fit the same contour is gonna be a b**** and probaly require some type of fiber glass work to look half way decent IMO

 

Its a possibility, you never know though, The curvature of the roof may not be that different. The biggest thing in my opinion is if the Ranger roof were wider than the Liberty roof. That would be harder to make look good than if the curvature was slightly off.

 

Hmm i think it looks good.I wouldnt mind it but i definently wouldnt pay that much.I wonder if you could build something like that out of fiber glasss like a custom sub box and coat it with herculiner on top.It would probably be less expensive and you could put what ever kind of lights you want inside.

 

Actually i saw a liberty offroading the other day at night and they were pretty damn bright. Maybe they replaced the bulbs. But a agree that for the price I would just get a light bar like you have.

 

i was looking at a summit stylin mag and i think i saw one mounted on a chevy 1500 it seemed to match and blend with the cab well but idk.

I LIKE IT ALOT. I think you CAN make it work and there is no reason why you can't upgrade the bulb to a higher wattage. F u c k all the Nay sayers and if you like it ROCK iT and make it work. I personally have seen this bar in action on a liberty and was amazed by the light it produced and to think I wasted 400 on hella rallye 4000's and the liberty was right up there in quality. go for it mang.

 

Thank you! Finally someone who sees my view... . I may do this in the future but I dont think I will pay that much for a setup. Maybe try and find a wrecked liberty to yoink one off of.

i would much rather have some big a$$ light bar with some sweet KC/Pro Comp lights than that lame plastic liberty set up.....IMO!!! cmon now you cant seriously think that would look that good on one of our trucks...hell, i would rather take 4 lights and drill them through the roof right behind the windshield than ever think about trying to put that on my truck!

 

to each his own I guess.... u are bagging on the plastic? hell the whole front bumper on these trucks is cheap *** plastic! Its guys like u that Im trying to be different from...one off, not the run of the mill I can get that from the local parts store, look.
