New Idea for an exhaust

Ight i see on here all the time people askin bout straight pipes and stuff but i dunno if i could handle that 24/7 driving... so what do yall think about leaving the stock muffler and stuff but put in an exhaust cut out thats made for like "race" applications... its cheap like not even $200 before install and it would give me the performance and sound when i want it.... tell me what yall think...plus the 's wouldnt mind it like they would regular straight pipes

I got a 3.0L in my truck with a Y pipe after the cat and straight duals, sounds good. Not bad just driving normal, but gets really loud when you want it to.

If you have no exaust, like if you cut everything off after the downpipe you would loose alot of low tourqe and horsepower because you will have no backpressure. Your engine needs this pressure. And it will probably sound bad.

It'd depend more on the size of the pipes you're running. He's right though, in that the electric dumper probably wouldn't sound good and would not be as beneficial as you'd think. Go with a good set of SI/DO pipes, or a SI/SO with a y-pipe. Borla mufflers are my favorite, but people have been very happy with flowmaster, magnaflow, or gibson also.

yea unless yer turbo throw'n good boost, or a built v8, there really is no need for it to breathe that much. the little 3.0s dont like a strait through setup.. its loud but thats about it
