Plus...it's kinda rare when you think about it. ONLY 01-03. ONLY 4x4s and EDGEs. Those 04+ "powerdome hoods" are definately not as powerdome-like as the 01-03s.

why is everyone hating on this idea???put a little creativity into the hood and use your imagination, it wouldn't be that hard to do it...as a matter of fact it has been done and with a write up on rangerpowersports.com....so don't hate just because you have no imagination....i say go for it

Are you going for looks or performance? If it's performance, I'd say get rid of the Ranger and get yourself an F150 Lightning.
If you're going for looks, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. You're the only one you need to make happy.
I got the cowl induction hood because I like the way it looks. My hood is all steel and probably 30-50 lb. heavier than stock.
So any performance gain is negated by the additional weight of the hood anyway.

In case you guys were too busy with your cute lil 33 inch tires taking pictures of your truck in your driveway, dirt road, past a lil mud puddle, "purely cosmetic" is a gigantic part of the car world.

In fact, look at Lifted97Ranger's truck. His is made to be a show truck. Great looking, etc etc. And his would do much better offroad than Sad_Savant's. But at the same time, all of his modifications, in the big picture, are cosmetic.

I think the Cobra hood is pretty sweet, I'd rock one.

that's what I was going to do with mine, but I changed my mind and painted stripes on the sides of the cowl and in the middle portion

Those hoods are badass! I'd love to get one, $500 a little steep though. Then there's paint too.

It fits pretty well as compared to stock fitment, I still have to align mine right, but overall it fits right in there.
as far as weight gain, it is one heavy sob, but the only time u notice it is when your lifting up your hood, it in no way affects driveability from weight.

The hood was around $600 and then shipping was another $100 or so and about $250 to paint. I live off Wonder World

Has anybody just added a functional hood scoop, to there stock hood and molded it in? It wont be ramair to the airbox but it will add cool air into the whole engine bay.
Thats what im going to do im my 95 ranger. but im still looking for a decent looking FUNCTIONAL scoop.. not these stick on scoops

Purely cosmetic or not, I think both of those hoods pictured look absolutely bad *ss. Not like we don't do anything else to our trucks thats purely cosmetic...

95offroadx has a function svo hood for sale for a late model ranger listed in the classifieds. I think it looks great.

I like the cowl induction hoods. You can also find the one that Austin has at andy'sautosport.com for around $400. I thought about how to make it functinal myself. Any tinker's wanna take on this challenge. I think it'll be really awesome if someone figured out how to make the cowl induction hood functional.

You can order cowls from JEGS and make your own hood, or ram air hood.

AUSTIN1, That hood would be great if it fit the grill.

that's what I was wondering, is there a grille out there designed for my hood?
I too noticed the gap between the grille shell and the hood.

i also like my powerdome hood. looks great on my truck wouldn't have any other hood. the big bonus is that it's fiberglass.

Kinda sucks having an 07 seeing how I can't find any kind of aftermarket hood. Guess i'm just gonna have to get some scoops if I want anything.
