Uhh...the powerdome isn't fiberglass. Or, at least mine isn't. I still have the window sticker from the purchase of the truck, and it says "Raised powerdome hood" in the add-ons section. and I'm PREEEETTY sure the thing is metallic in nature! What's up with that?

I have a 2003 Ranger Edge with a fiberglass powerdome hood and it's heavy. I would rather have a flat hood so I can see the fenders. I've had it about 5 months and have gotten used to not seeing the right side fender.

If I think I'm to close I just punch it and knock what ever is in the way over .

yeah mine is fiberglass got it all over me when i drilled the holes for my bug deflector. the bracket for the latch is metal and is riveted into the fiberglass. if your truck is newer it might have a metal hood since it is now cheaper to make it out of metal than it is out of fiberglass.

yeah the hood is a little heavy but it is lighter than the hood austin1 has on his truck and i think it looks just as good if not better than his hood. plus it won't rust. also my quarter panels are fiberglass since it is a stepside.

I'm not 100% but it is a possibility 04+ powerdomes are steel, 01-03 are fiberglass

Although that hood in the first post looks good, if you have a power dome hood, why not just make it functional !

Cut, reinforce openings with rods and fiberglass, and you have a vented engine compartment.
