Shuttle services...kinda

With todays gas prices I was wondering if we could come up with a way to shuttle parts. For example, I would like to have some certifit parts but they are 2 hrs away. There is probably someone in the area thats coming my direction and we could meet somewhere. The same would work for ebay auctions or purchases from other members when shipping charges are just outta hand. Maybe you need a hood from across the state or some wheels...whatever. Maybe we could make a dedicated forum. What do you think...dumb idea or good idea

That is a good idea.

I have helped/been helped by a couple members through the forum. For instance, the last Silver Lake meet, Rob (my91ranger) picked up a t-case that I bought off eBay. It was close for him to get it. I gave him $20 for his time/gas and he brought it to the meet with him (glad he did as Evan needed a t-case while we were there).

I would say it's a good idea as in Canada there is no certifit and I really need a front bumper and valance from there. So I think something like this would be great, we could meet at the boarder and trade up the parts for cash. anyways something to think about.

We do that on one of the audio forums I frequient but it is a Florida/South east specific forum and we all compete or have competed with each other on a weekend to weekend bassis so we are a little more tight nit.

no never did it, but was thinking of installing the new stuff across the boarder and just either scraping the old or complements to the parts delivery man. and then just drive back as if nothing has changed. I don't see how that would be a huge issue.

That wouldn't, but if it is a part that you can't install in a parking lot, then you will have to pay.

fair enough, ya it would probably be some large coin too. I order my headlights from cali and the C.O.D was like almost a 100 bucks I was pissed. Don't get me wrong I like my stuff to be shipped correctly with the right amount of padding but this box was massive! anyways this is also why I would like to see this idea happen.
