Speed sensitive radio volume

My cruise is inop. I just purchased this '00 Ranger XLT a few months ago. Someone has changed the factory radio. My problem is the cruise switches were toast. So i replaced them. The harness and switches. Idk if I pinched a wire because it still doesn't work. They do illuminate with the dash lights. Upon reading and looking at Ford TSB 06-8-5 it mentioned a few key things to check first. And one of the points mentioned cruise may not work if the factory radio with speed sensitive volume has been tampered with or changed. Is there anyway to tell if this truck had that option? I really miss not having my cruise control. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've never heard of an older Ranger having speed sensitive volume, and I've had a 2000, 2002, and 2003 Ranger, with the base model, premium, and six-disc CD players. None of them had speed sensitive volume.

Ranger factory radios didn't have this

Usually its not a "speed sensor" thats used any more, that was older tech, there was also a window sensor used, lol, volume would go up if you rolled down window while driving, also old tech

Some 3rd parties now use ambient noise sensors to increase volume if passenger compartment noise goes up
