Need advice ASAP please

I ended up getting a metal staple in the side of my right rear tire last night, and apparently they cannot patch the tire... Sucks because the tires are only half gone, and I wanted to just upgrade the rims and tires after these ones were toasty toast.
So now I have dilemma: I really want to put new rims and tires on, but I also eventually want to get a superlift.
I think I know what kind of rims I want to get, but as far as the specs go, I need some advice. I want to run 33's (and I should be able to as I have a 3" BL)
I like these rims

or these too
http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/w...em=ClassicLock

but I don't know what specs I should look for when assessing rims, and seeing as how tirerack doesn't carry these rims on their site, I can't match it with a tire too well

As for tires, I was thinking the toyo open countrys or Goodyear Duratracs.

I am currently driving on my spare so I need your input.

Would I be better just to go to a tire store locally and tell them what I want and get them to order them for me?

pretty much any of those mickey thompson wheels will work on your truck. depends if you want them to stick out or not but they will all work with your truck being lifted (as long as correct bolt pattern is used)

as for tires, just get like a 285 and it should go on any of those wheels fine.

I'm guessing the 16x8s are what are standard on my truck?
I could go with 285/75R16s then?
I do not know too much about tires and sizes and the like, but I'm guessing that the 285 translates to 33's???

285/75/16 is a 33.

285 is just the width of the tire, sidewall is 75% of that and 16 is tire size. I said 285s because that would go on 8 to 10 inch wide wheels just fine.

75% of 285 is whatever it is, divide by ten to go to cm then divide by 2.52 to go to inches. times 2 for two sidewalls plus is is 32.8 inches.

i think stock wheels are 16x7

If you are going for 33's I would suggest going with 15x8. the rims are less and the tires are much less.

Regular rims are 16x7 for anything after 2000.
FWIW, Black classic locks are sweet. You should just be able to tell them whereever your getting the tires that you want them in 33's. As for width, its up to you. if you want them to stick out a few inches, get 12.5 width, or if you don't want much just go with 10.5's (i think thats the next one down)

the gay thing about the black classic locks is they aren't in the larger sizes for the ranger. 15s i think are too small, 16s on 33s looks good. but again only option of the black classic locks is in a 15. not sure why since they have a better selection of sizes in the classic locks, its just a different finish.

My rims are 15's. but yea, i agree. 16's would look better.

So the black classic locks in the 16" with the 6-5.5 bolt pattern will not work?

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8530)

No. Our bolt pattern is 5x4.5 (metric: 5x114.3). If you want them to stick out, look for a lower offset. If not, look for higher.

FYI: to figure out height and width of P-metric tires:
Width (eg 285) divided by 25.4 gives you inches
Width times ratio (eg 75) gives you sidewall height.
2xsidewall height plus rim diameter gives you overall height.

Also, this thread should have been posted in the wheels and tires forum under tech, not the classifieds.
