Things I learned from the weekend.

1) Limit Straps are your freind with air shocks. I will be adding one to the front and shortening the on the rear. The front unloaded pretty bad when climbing ledges, even caused my d-shaft to come apart once.

2) Sway bars are also your freind. I'm going to add one to the rear as soon as i can free up some cash. Side hills are definatly interesting.

3) Im going to lower the suspension 2-3 inches. More like the pic when its pulled down on the trailer. My first shot a ride height was a joke.

4) Still fighting the P.S. gremlins. Despite adding a saginaw pump to my 3.0L with a giant resivior it struggles to keep up with the ram and continues to over heat. I'm going to try one last pump with a pressure / volume mod i found on pirate before i give PSC a call and ask WTF?

Anyways enough *****ing.... heres the pics.

why dont you get some atv winches to suck down the axles on hill climbs? the first thing I though before reading is how much you suspension was unloading.

nice to see the belly pan, its smaller than I thought it would be.

I dont think i can package another winch in the front. Im just going to limit strap it tight at ride hiehgt. Things are getting awfully crowded under that front end.

Some of the other trucks on the run cuase we all love pictures.

Carnage Report:

2 D44 U-joints (me and the green CJ)
2 Fuel Pumps (me and the Blue TJ)
1 Electric Fan blade (me being a moron)
1 Rear D60 Shaft ( S10 truggy)
1 Rear d-shaft ( blue tj )
2 Iroks with slashed sidwalls

Overall it was a really good weekend. I still have bugs to work out but its getting closer. It takes a while to work them out when the nearest wheeling spot is 6+ hours away.

No... it sucks on side hills. I had 2 wheels (same side) off the ground a half a dozen times this weekend. I will definatly be going to anti rocks as soon as i can free up 600 bucks.

Its actualy on private property up in Canada north of Saulte. The owner has asked us to be tight lipped about it.

We may be headed that way again in the fall. If anyone wants to tag along, PM me and i will let you know when we start making plans again.

How many of those guys are from the Wheelers? I know that Jeep in the 2nd picture is on the front page of the Wheelers forum sometimes. Was that the alumni run?

Nope it wasnt a alumni run. The jeep is Tad Dowkers. He used to be the president of the wheelers when i first joined. We were the only ones there this time.

Chris Do you have a picture of how you mounted the passenger side upper on the frame? Also how long are your arms in the front?

I dont but can get one... but it may be a week or two. Im back down in K.C. for a few weeks.

There is a plate welded to the inside of the frame rail with a nut welded to the back of it. The nut sits inside a whole drilled in the frame. They we bent a .25 strap to get the link into double shear.

If that doesnt make sense i can get pics but like i said its going to take a few weeks.

I think my lowers are 36in if i remember right.

Makes sense what you did, but what I am more interested in is the location of the mount in correspondence to the lower link.

I want to 3 link my front and run coil overs so that I can gain the extra room for up travel, my panhard constantly hits the bottom of the frame.

36" seems short but I may be way off, still doing a lot of reading.
