Alright Gents

Alright, after being a member for a very brief period of time (coupled with the fact that I'm going on leave to go back to the states for a bit), I decided that I'm going to go ahead and start up a project log. Now, keep in mind, that I am currently stationed in Italy, with no access to my Danger Ranger, so this is going to be a bit of a long project log with the amount of things that I want to do to the truck. And it goes a little something like this:

Flat black EVERYTHING
6" Superlift
RCD Coilovers
Re-geared
A somewhat oversized front bumper that would make a semi jealous
A wheel and tire package that would make a sand rail re-think its life
Tinted enough to make cops hate me
Enough lights to light up the world.... During the apocalypse.... At night
Some type of cover that meets all of my needs (Plan on doing a little bit of SAR at my new unit)
A little bit of boom to make the music sound good
Some other cosmetic garbage that I won't mention here

All and all, it's going to be a bit of a project. I know NOTHING about suspensions. I'm more of an interior guy myself. But, I know a bunch of my buddies weld and jack trucks up all the time, so it'll be interesting to learn, that's for sure. A couple of pictures of the "little red machine".

Sounds like you have a cool project ahead of you.

Two things tho, superlift only makes a 4" kit for your truck and there's no such thing as rcd coilovers unless you find a used 5"rcd lift. Go fox or foa coilovers

And THAT'S why I'm on here! Like I said, not a suspension guy. Ha ha ha ha, but I'm willing to give anything a shot once or twice, then a third time just to be sure.

Stock alternator will be fine but find a place to mount a second battery(deep cycle) with isolator, to run all those lights and the Sound System, with a capacitor for the subwoofer amp of course.

Larger alternator is fine but if you are listening to tunes and lighting up the world with engine off it won't help, lol.

I have been looking into the dual battery mod. It looks like a bit of an undertaking, but I'm more than willing to tackle it. I enjoy learning new things and new skills.

Just pulled the trigger on a Flowmaster Exhaust American Thunder Series bit of awesomeness. We aren't going to talk about how much it ran me. I know, I know, "You should have just gone to a pipe shop and yatta yatta yatta." I know.

Bit of an update seeing as how it's long overdue. I got the flowmasters on the second day I was here. AMAZING. Love the sound. Went with a full K&N intake. Hardwired GPS/Fuzz buster. Tinted the windows to 15% (take THAT TN tint laws!!). Been brainstorming an idea for a subwoofer box tied into a storage crate/gun rack. It's going to be an interesting build to say the least. Here's what I want to do:

Take out the jump seats and console, build a trapezoidish box for a solo-baric L7 to be placed behind the passenger seat, connect it to a storage type box that spans the drivetrain hump in the back, and behind the driver's seat mount a three/two gun rack. I'm going to mount a SERPA holster on the back of the center console for the ol' Glock that way I can get to it quickly if I need it.

Thoughts? Anyone ever tried anything like this before?

Alright, not that any of you are interested. Ha ha ha. Dropped in some projectors, just need to get the clear corners and mod the mess out of them. I ended up going with two solo-baric 10" L7's. They're in a prefab box right now, just because I don't have time nor the equipment to make the box that I'm dreaming about currently. Hurst shifter is coming shortly, that'll be fun. I'm waiting to mount the light bar until a later date. I've got a used super lift (thanks mike) on the way that I'm going to tinker with while I'm in Georgia.

Anybody on here near N Georgia? Just a question. Thanks!

Can't think of anyone off-hand in Georgia, but we have a couple in Florida, one in Alabama I think, and I'm in Louisiana. I also think there's one or 2 in the Carolinas that I see from time to time.

Got some work in today on the danger ranger. Sound deadened the passenger side and half of the drive train tunnel. Murder mat for the noise, and then a heat resistant something or other for the drivetrain hump. Also threw in some KC lights on the front that I got for dirt cheap. Ordered dick cepek crushers 35x12.5x15 as well as some other odds and ends. All and all everything is coming together. Ripping the rest of the interior out tomorrow so that I can sand it down and paint all of it a couple of times and finish the deadening. I was going to throw MLV in there, but I'm going to see what this murder mat has got, and then make my decision. OHC and mustang dome light to come whenever I manage to yank the headliner. Going to be repainting that as well. Anyone have any good flat black paint or dye for the headliner? Or should I just get another headliner that's flat black?

There's a how-to on here that shows how to recover your headliner without removing the old material. I just did it not too long ago with black suede. It isn't hard to do at all.

ok, got the OHC in (finally). The overhead lights work, but the actual display doesn't. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd pull it down to make sure the computer is getting power. You could have gotten a bad one or a wire came undone. Did you test everything before you put it in?

Thanks. I figured I haven't posted any pictures since I have been working on it. I'm off to an army school that's going to take me out of the game for quite a few months, but whenever I get back I've got a super lift going on with coil overs and a matching rear end. Then finally getting my dick cepek crushers on. Eventually regear with a locker or two, then finish up the interior work. All in all I'm stoked for this year and seeing what all I can get accomplished.
