The Budget Baja Build

Hey guys, here it is. This spring im going to be tearing into my truck to get it geared up for the summer and fall wheeling. I'm working car sales in Ontario, so with the market, my mods will fluctuate. Im gonna try and stick to this plan as best i can, but dont be shocked if things get put on hold. My goal is to have this stuff done by september. This truck is my DD, so its still gotta be legal, and its gotta be safe.

The shocks, coils and leaf adjustment will all go on at the same time. I will have my sportbike to drive while the truck is down.

The truck is far from stock, but heres the majors as of now.
78,300kms/47,000 miles
2WD auto ext 4.0L
4.56 8.8 w/LS
33x10.50R15 BFG AT's on 15x8's w/ 4" BS
superchipped, E-Fan, K&N.
FX4 Lumbar
Doetsch 3" spindles
4X4 2" block (to be taken out)
Doetsch 2" shackle

Whats to come includes this stuff:

Chevy 64" swap
locker install (if E locker, will be in a explorer axle 31 spline with my 4.56 gears)
mcneil 3" front glass
pulled bed sides
camburg 2.5 race coils
fabtech UCA's (if you know better that bolt to a lift spindle, PM me)
new front bearings
LOTS of regular maintenance (trans, coolant, brake flush...undercoating..ect)
FOA Resi's, strapped. (custom mounting up front as nobody makes what i want)
Camburg gusset kit and Trans X member (possibly)

Input, ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. I wouldnt be where i am if i didnt have help from you guys.

lol. Im not sure why, but i cant stand the look of flares, and ill never drill my bed.

My rear leafs are toast, and I want the truck to sit higher. I'm 6.9", my goal is to not see over the top of it haha. so 64's, and coils are pretty much the way to go. Also hate body lifts, so thats another direction my truck wont go.

its still too stock in the suspension for my likings, and it rides like a tank on everything. so that will change.

Sounds cool, I would recommend glassworks or fibrewerks over McNeil and I would look into the btf upper CA over the fabtech http://www.dezertrangers.com/vb/gara...area/95538.htm

I have McNeil and am less than satisfied and when I saw a pair of glassworks bedsides I was amazed with the quality. I've never actually seen fiberwerks but have heard good things

ok lets go down the list here..

I was thinking fiberwerx, though one of their sales reps pissed me off to no extent last year.

I need a UCA thats gonna work with a 2.5" lift coil, but nice find!

Ill be sure to look into glassworks. not sure if they ship to canada.

I lean back like fat joe.

no im all honesty, its tight, but i have modified the seat to allow me to sit lower, and ill be dropping it another ince to help more. I can tell i need a haircut when it starts rubbing the roof. kinda neat actually lol.

There are a few things that will be coming off, like my hitch. if anyone local needs stuff ill let ya know. to start, ill be grabbing fenders and the chevy 64's. then looking into coils, UCA's, and shocks. that all will be most likely mid spring-summer

lol at the height jokes. seems like there are always big dudes in these tiny trucks. Love how the truck looks now, I'm sure whatever you do will look awesome. I had fiberwerks on my ranger front and rear and they were great. I had a bubble in one fender up front but I called them and got some money off it.

alright, Waiting to hear back from the distributer on my fenders! Turns out baja north isnt shipping Fiberwerx... so that means im gonna have to pay to have them shipped through the states...

Been waiting for the nice warm weather to come around, so i can hunt down a set of chevy 64's. turns out they are discontinued from GM, so new they are about 1200 a pair my cost. (ouch)

Got my drivers side tall seat installed, now i just need to clean my passenger side seat and get it into the truck. i'm selling a bunch of stuff i have to fund the build this spring. anybody interested in a set of 60/40 grey and black seats?

I will update when i get more news, I really wish things were moving faster! Why cant i get paid every week? lol

My front mcneils came to $420 all said and done through Bcsupertrucks. Anyway, I replied to your pm, Baja north seems to not care unless you are there in person

Truck looks good so far!

has anybody ever tried these out?

http://www.andysautosport.com/ford/2...d00110411.html

How do they look and work? im assuming a little custom wiring is needed.

Also, do you think having a manual over ride on my E-Fan to turn it on at any time would be a good idea? I have a really easy way to do it, would cost about $15. It runs on a automatic system as it is, but just thought id ask.

I think you have to cut into the header panel to make them fit. At least with the other brazilians you have to do that.
