Getting some prep work done, will edit in a few pictures - working on the first headlight housing paint - picked up some Krylon Fusion Satin Black...












Heading back out to fire off a first coat..!

 

Krylon Fusion: Satin Black Several Coats (It dries extra fast, so you can touch up almost non-stop)

 

NICE!! If it were me, I'd set the projo deeper in the headlamp housing. Cut that hole that the stock 9007 goes into, and countersink that projo some. Possible cutting of the rad core support may be needed and I wouldn't hesitate on whipping out the dremel. I want a stock look to it, so I'd be leaving that area chrome around the projo, and possibly machine some alum trim rings then polish 'em out to a chrome like shine. From a distance, it'll look like a headlight mod, but get closer, you'll see the projo. Just my thoughts.

The part with dremeling it to set it back further - you have to realize there isnt much room behind the housign itself - I coudl cut into the truck a bit.. but to get the housing back in further would take some JB Weld - and then trying to make taht look pretty would strt making things look funky - PLUS you have to line it up correctly, using the pins for the 9007 holes puts it dead center perfect - you would have to spend a serious amount of time getting it lined up while it dries - and make sure as heck it doesnt go crosseyed or out to the side.. extra tough to do

Working as fast as I possibly can.. I woudl really like to have these done by tonight - but I wont be putting them on my truck until I get it 100% sealed up and properly cured so I dont ever have to touch them again, lol

 

 

So let me get this straight.....this projo kit you got is specifically made for a 9007 bulb? Am I understanding this right?

Oh gosh, so sorry about that people - Gorge.net (my internet provider) had a huge problem with a switch out in portland and my service went down around 4pm, didnt come up again until sometime this morning.



I got them finished up, they are sitting upstairs with the glue curing.. uno momento whiel I post up shots of what I was doing duing it, and the finished product :-)





Thats it exactly, great kit for the money! Although, I dont think I payed that much.. let me check on my order, find out what my total was.

The kit is designed to fit into a specific bulb slot - the actual bulb itself is (I think) an H3 bulb, I need to take a look at some pictures first - Then has a screw backing to tighten it into the 9007/9004 slot.

 

After taking the supplied heavy duty glue - I finally mounted eerything back up together after it was all painted.. took me about 4-5 hours or so after I finished the first one, to finish the second one. Lots of little pieces needing blacked out with the Krylon Fusion Satin Black paint, and after each one is mounted in the housing - it has to be tested to make sure it fully works.

Trying to find my dang electrical tape.. I have like 50 rolls of that stuff, and they are never where you need them.. ugh!

Thats what I thought....the projo 'housing' slides into a 9007/9004 headlamp housing bulb 'slot'. Pretty neato!

Any thoughts of doing the halo around the signal? Too late now. lol.

 

Its a CFL lamp - not an LED - so probably not best for it to keep flashing on and off all the time :-(

I tested by applying a 9v current (Battery) to it, and as figured, its based on a full 12v circuit, only 3/4ths of it lit up, the upper 1/4th was off.


So - no can do on the turn signal setup :-(

Wow the first picture you posted of the "one eyed dog" made me cringe... awful.

It's really amazing how much difference some black paint makes! Those look fantastic!

Low Beam and High Beam: It switches as fast as hearing a click, no warming up of a second bulb = as fast as you can move your fingers.











Next Step: Find some 4300k bulbs to fit, preferably 50w.. and install ;-D

Thats so sick, I'm tempted to try this on my headlights. You could make some bank doing this and then selling the whole thing, headlights and all.
