Custom HID Projector Lens in an 01'+ Housing
Oh damn, gotta change your avitar then, man!
Still looking around for bulbs - I emailed the person I ordered it from to ask what type they run - I dont think its quite an H1 or H3 bulb.. they have the same look - but I think if I ordered an H1 I coudl probably make it work with a dremel and some light sanding... would love to test these with some 5ow bulbs

I'm hoping to beat Shane, haha
gonna go with chrome on mine though... do I really have to hook up the angel eye? I don;t want to drill a hole in there, I want to be able to swap the old reflector in whenever necessary...

waaat up roach!
i'm going with Chrome as well, but I will be using a different projector. I don't like how it's just like.. a snail's eyes on there. just my taste, i guess.
I think it looks great though, the black paint really does hide what I mentioned above.
I think the angel eyes are not required, however, the wires will still be there, i believe.

Our housings dont have much room to work with modified projector lens people - You havent actualyl taken a measuring tape to a true projector housing have you? Most are roughly 6-8" long.. way too big for our housing, you cant even put it in the housing and drill out the back of the headlight - there jsut wont be room to install it. Trust me, hah, I measured lots, and lots and lots - this one works perfect, comes close to touching the front of the housing - and its by far the easier one to take advantage of without trying to make some funky too-big projector lens work. This has high and lows, it has a perfect cut off line - what more could you ask for? lol
Those are 2" projectors I bet
They look small - only because of the concave of the lense.. and that the front end of that thing is massive - V8 right?

Just buy a second set of headlights? Only cost me 40 bucks for brand new chrome housing headlights, if you dont dril - youll have a pair of wires dangling around inside of it.. and anytime you want to remove the housing - you ahve to bake the headlight.. I dont think these projectors would respond well to baking.. not too sure - but 220 degrees for 15-20 minutes might not treat any plastic/wiring in it very well
i just bought a pair of small projectors for my foglights. Once I'm done, i'll let you know. I did all the measuring, and they look like it all fits
Awesome, hope it works.. woudl be extra sweet to have a nice perfect yellow cutoff on some 3000k fogs :-D
They are holding up fantastically!
Night time vision is great, the highs are perfect - easily a 200% improvement over swapping to just low beam HID's, and like a 500% improvement to teh stock halogens (ewwww!)
The cut off is set perfectly, have never had anyone flash at me, and I feel very comfortable driving behind people, as my lights drop right to there license plate/tire level with a standard following distance.
COuldnt be happier!
My one little puzzle - I still have to find a way to get a different bulb for it.. ir ealyl want to go back to 4300k as I dont like the blue tinge on teh 6000k :-(

They are neither - they are a custom made bulb for the projector itself... I havent had time to pull the bulb out, its a pain to do it - have to remove the whole headlight and get a teeny screw to loosen it out - but I will try to see if I can fit a normal 9007 HID into it, and maybe take a dremel to modify parts here and there, Its no type of normal HID - Ive looked at all comparison pictures, an nothing seems to be the right one sadly
