I love having my manual, makes it feel more like a truck in my opinion, and have better control throughout the powerband.

i had changed my mind because it would be too custom of a shifter to work with the Pioneer console......i am going to get a shroty console, i don't like the look of a full length Explorer console and a manual tranny...

Maurice you already have a shorty console with the pioneer center console. All you need to do is remove the front part of the console and buy the cup/change holder that goes in the front of the console.

You also have a pm.

Its your truck. I would look for a transmission from an F150 or something though.. the 5M series are rather weak IMO.
What tranny are you running?

All I can remember is its a Borg T-5 trans, I cant remember where he got the adapter.

Maybe something off a 89 ranger? the bell housing? It was something weird like that

I think the bell housing was from a 2.8 liter S10, but 1 of the bold holes didn't line up. Now that the mustang 6 cylinders run a T-5 though, I would think its a direct fit...

S10 does not sound right. 2.9L or 2.8L Ranger seems like something he was rambling on about one time... could be wrong tho

it is common on the 2.9 Rangers to swap in a 4.0's clutch.....i would say that the bell housing is of a 2.9 Ranger....

You have to change PCMs also, they are different between manual, and auto trannies.....

The T-5 has a external slave though, correct? So something has to be done with that as well...

You can now buy a 2005+ v6 mustang stick from a boneyard. Its a T5 with all the workings already there. Flywheel, bellhousing, starter.. You will still have to get your drive-shaft adjusted for it, but its a direct swap now.
Then you'd have to deal with the extension housing for a 4x4 like Maurice's. I know that some S-10's had the T-5 w/4x4 extension housing but I don't know that it matches the bolt pattern of a Ford transfer case.
