Project 1/2 Ton Ranger SAS
Probably alot more then your rear axle can hold.
You dont have to be a dick i stated that the 8.8 was gonna blow up when you started. And you claimed it would be fine and what do you know it blew up which isnt suprising there weak axles get a 9 in or 14 bolt or d-70 or somthin then you can say that they will not blow out.

Umm idk it would crush the bedsides before it did anything to the rack im sure so prollay quite a bit. ive had a quad up there before and one in the bed under it also lol. but i took it off anyways.
Didn't realize it had been this long since I updated this. The truck has since been proven as one of the most capable trucks in our group, been taken on some awesome crawling/camping trips, driven thousands of highway miles and kept on going. Unfortunately I have to sell it due to financial reasons. Enjoy the pics and take a look in the classifieds. Not even trying to make back what I have into it.

Very late reply to this, but looking at that broken shaft, I think there may have been a defect in that axle. notice the dark area? That suggests that damage had been there for a while. I've got a 31 spline 8.8 in my '96 Bronco on 36's and the axles survived me blowing up the trac-loc diff into 10 different pieces.
