Funny you should ask!
The past couple weeks I had been having a check egine light coming and going and the truck was way down on power. My scanner kept saying it had a bad cam sensor.Well saturday I went and got a new one and climbed up on top of the enging to change it then seen it wasnt bad....I just never tightened down the holddown bolt for the dumby shaft! Only thing holding it close to position was the plug.
Well I got my sync tool and reset the sensor and it runs even better than day one now! I think my trans hates the engine cuz even though its a brand new trans with a Trans-Go shift kit under full throttle you can hear and feel the shifts are slow and soft with some slippage or converter issues.
Also,I have been using the Ranger to tow my Bronco2 on my 16ft car hauler for a few off road trips and other than weak braking it pulls and rides fine and easily has as much towing power as my dads 01 F150 with a 5.4
With the B2 loaded to keep tongue weight light it handles the load perfect with just my AAL in the rear of the Ranger. My trailer is about 1500lbs and I would guess the B2 is at least 3500lb so I am pretty impressed to say the least.

this is too funny i was gonna do the same thing with checking up on this build. i was also wonder if you had to get your truck tuned.
this coming December i gonna start my rebuild on my original motor. it burned up the #6 crank rod baring. luckily it didn't lock up and push that rod threw the case. it only had 85000 miles with regular oil changes. my current motor is pushing 220000 miles where the truck has 155000. so its time to for a rebuild.
i was wondering if you could help me in the process of researching my rebuild. i would like to go the same route as you did with your build.

My truck is untuned still at this point.
I did however have to buy a Ford air idle bleed plate for the IAC so I could raise the idle because with the big cam the idle was too low and rough.I would strongly suggest going with the smaller Comp cam if your running an auto trans...a stick should be fine in my opinion.
Feel free to ask whatever you need to know as I would be glad to help.
