Interesting, I now have offical sponsorship on this project. My friend own a body shop and he is going to help me bag the truck, even chip in on the cost, so long as I advertise the shop somewhere on the finished truck and let them drive it once in awhile :-p
I wish someone would pay for my mods, I dont care how big their logo is either:footinmou if they sent me a free decal I'd slap it on the back! |

that actually looks ****ing killer man!

Thanks!

|
i cant wait to see it done

sweet tub, any ideas what rims your gonna run?
|
I thought you where only suppose to cut out a small section in the middle somewhere and lower it and re-weld?
Can't wait to see it done!! |
I decided that I liked the idea of having a bucket more than a chopped cab. This cab is temporary until I find something better.
|
Wow, interesting idea

Anyone know how to get that windshield out yourself, short of taking a bat to it? I really can't afford to have a shop do it.
|
Ive never done one on a ranger, but we did on a cherokee. We used a regular box cutter type knife to cut the sealer around the window. Then we used a rubber malet gently to break it free.

Many thanks! |
take a piece of wire and get it between the wind shield and metal and slowly work it back and forth you will probably break the wire a couple time because of the heat but it will get it out i have done a ton like that

I already pulled off the weather stripping on the outside, so I'm assuming you mean workign the knife under the exposed edge of the windshield?
Many thanks! |
I took a windshield out with my face once. I don't recommend that method.

^^ lmfao x2

hahaha dude this is EFFING AWESOME. You need to go post this over on MazdaBscene.com.
I can't wait to see more progress on this. If you want great ideas to help make this truck killer, definetly pop over to MazdaBscene. Your suspension can go a couple of ways. Most rat roads aren't on air. They're just stupid f*cking low. You can be weird and bodydrop it with a static drop which would be true rat-rod. Or you can body drop it and bag it. Or just bag it with no body drop. Or go cheap and just static drop it. Get some steelies and white walls and you're rockin. If you need to for local laws, use trailer fenders on the front wheels. |

Attachment 173715 Attachment 173716 Ok, sorry for the low quality, I took these on an iMac. The cab is all chopped down and ready for some bondo work. I'm going to use foam pipe insulation as a mold to make a nice mold to fiberglass and bondo over all the gaps around the cab. I'm going to trim down the firewall. After that, the engine is going to finally get pulled out, and the cab is going to move back somewhere between 18 and 24 inches. That'll make plenty of room to mount a v8 and having the wheels way out front. Once the cab is moved back, I can mount the v8 and get a tranny, mount it, and I'll be able to drive it while I work on it. :) |
How'd you switch the steering wheel to other side?
