Quater Million
Well, finally money isn't much of an option, got my inheritance cash and insurance money. I'll have a spare 3.0 with 170K miles on hand.
The truck:
3.0l with 244K miles
Only leaks found are the oil drain plug, burns no smoke, only a small quick puff on start up after sitting for a while.
Just replaced the exhaust manifold gasket, so waiting on inspection.
Paid 1500 for it, there's no serious rust. There's a small quarter size hole in the frame, only problem so far. Easily fixed with a patch.
So to start, he is my winch mount
Ok, here's the fairlead set up, I have to trim the front piece, obviously. I'm going to round it out and make it shorter. I'm going to reinforce the back to prevent bowing.
The fairlead peice of steel will bolt on to the winch holder, the winch will be mounted to the steel as in picture #3.
1/4 steel plate bent to fit in between the frame rails and use the existing bumper mounting holes and using high grade bolts. From there I will design my front bumper from C channel steel with the winch set back into the bumper for protection.
The winch in all her glory, she's heavy as hell.
And here's my plan for the bumper when I get around to it.
Got the new body mounts installed, the brackets were rotted so I had to weld on 1 1/2" washers to rebuild the hole to accept the bushing. Also installed coil spacers and built my light bar.
Front is done, just waiting on my pitman arm.
The rear, I'm not sure what's going on. I bought the chevy drop shackles and it lifting it maybe an inch at best. I'm wondering if my leaf springs are sagging, they look flat and not a nice crescent shape.
Picked up some 35x15.5x15 micket thompson baja claws on cragar 15x10 black widow rims.
Tires are a little bald, I bought them used and plan on buying some 35 A/Ts later in the summer.
The axle is a 9" with 4.56 gears and disc brakes, I gotta rig up the ebrake and attach the brake lines.
I also have a matching dana 35 pig to install but that's gonna be the hardest thing to do.

Yeah, sorry. I dont frequent ranger forums that much so I just took all my posts from therangerstation.com and threw it into one post.
But, it's got a 250K miles now and no problems.
I just ordered new calipers for the 9inch, holy crap. Rockauto was the only place with some in stock at 65 a piece. So it stops, but not so good, I can't bleed the brakes using the bleeder(reason I bought new calipers), so I had to pull the calipers and crack the hose bolt and let it flow til I didn't see any bubbles. It does stop and there is a shine to the rotors, but the pedal is squishy still.
New pads can't hurt either, seeing as they look original.
I need to fix the driveshaft bearing, the rubber is a little broken so it vibrates. Still have to install the front diff, not looking forward to that.
Waiting on someone to buy my motorcycle and go karts to help fund my new tires. I'm thinking of maxing it out with 36s, but I'd have to baby it in 4wd. Bad part is they apparently don't make these size mickeys, i'm stuck with 14" wide, these are 15.5s.
