Slow progress on de-"edge"ification

Some of you may be interested in what I'm up to since I always have at least one ranger project going. Well project de-"edge"ification is in progress. The edge is going to turn into a 99 and body swap is going to turn into a 01...lol I am pretty much done with all the tear down except bodyswap for the upgrade. Since I will be doing a color change and reassembling the drivetrain it will be a slow project. I will be concentrating on the drivetrain in order to get it to run and inbetween painting the jams and back of the cab and reinstalling body parts. Basically its going to be a red 99 when complete.

looks great man. will you have a frame that is somewhat good in the middle? i am looking for something that is 98+ and has good straight cab mounts. basically that section of the frame.

i like the looks of that red ranger, could put a little susp. lift on it and would be a real capable truck, plus i wish i had a place and the funds to do the projects that you do, that'd be freaking awsome!... always great work. BTW is this the red truck that was smashed in the front? and why are you "DE-EDGEING" the white truck if u mind me asking?

Yes the red truck was totaled, frame was bent, front axle broken and cab floor bent enough that the drivers door wouldn't shut. The edge was an abondoned vehicle. I bought it with a bill of sale. Rebuilding the 99 is easier than going thru the prosess of getting a title for the 01 and the 99 title is clean. Even though I an rebuilding the 99 there won't be any bent parts on it.

I don't mind the work, its the searching for parts I hate. Things never go as planned. One difficulty is all the changes ford makes everything is different between 2wd & 4wd and then year changes.

The edge is basically non extistant now. I have rebuilt the red truck with the frame and cab from the edge and installed the edge front on my black 99.

Well I haven't updated this thread for a while so I thought I would. My camera had disappeared. Nobody knows nothing...waited and it never turned up...grrrr. Anyway I bought another camera today. I got the truck running and took it for a ride with the body parts kinda just hanging on with a couple bolts...ran good, shifted good, clutch worked good, brakes good. I still have a few issues 1-abs light 2-CEL and 3-still have to add 3rd braket for front diff and install front driveshaft 4-tires(need some) I have moved on to painting. pulled the body back apart and started the prep. Here is how she looks right now.

Cool, it should look good. I say gray on the flares. Did you clearcoat the black truck? I can't remember if you did or not.

Yeah bc cc, same with this one. Once I get this one painted I need to repaint the front on the black one. I plan on driving the red one while I paint the black one.
