I was looking today in the app store and noticed that F150forum.com has an iPhone app and I know we have a mobile app and It is awesome however What would be involved in making an iPhone/Droid app?

 

We dont really have a need to make an App. The mobile site will work for any phone and service anyone, an app will only service a few phones. What is the advantage to the app that you like?

 

im not knocking the RF mobile site because its great but the app that the OP is referencing has alot more options and it slightly easier to navigate from section to section, plus it includes a moderation menu for the mods/ admin.

 

Yeah another forum I'm on just got a app the other day and it kicks ***. It looks great on the iPhone and the Droid. Its not Tapatalk, its an individual app. I'm sure it would cost money though and since we recently started the mobile site I doubt Rick would be up for it. it would be pretty cool to have one. Idk why but when i use the mobile site i always double post haha but i don't mind using it or just using the browser

 

Meh I just browse the full site on my iPhone lol. A few of my forums I'm on use tapatalk and I don't even use it

 

I have a android phone and i usually just browse it like a regular page without problems.
I do however attend a technical school. i could always ask some of my buddy's what it takes to make an app and what not, maybe even try it out ourselves. i don't know if anyone else here is a code monkey as well.

 

way too expensive. initial cost is 249 and every other platform we support is an additional hundred. then yearly licensing. then we dont even control it, they do.

No interest in that atm. we have a mobile app, it may be limited but its cheaper and free for everyone to use and we can update it at anytime.
