Replaced starter now no fuel pump

This is my first time posting on here I have a 2002 Ford ranger 2.3 L 5 speed and I thought the starter needed to be replaced on it so I bought a new one and one of my friends said he would help me and got under my pickup before me and started taking it apart. Well pretty sure he put the wires back on wrong to the starter and he tried to start it a couple times and the last time he started it the fuel pump didn't come on I had lost all power inside of the vehicle. I got power back but when I push my clutch down and I tried to start it there's nothing. I put my old starter back on the ranger because bench tested it and it was good. But now I can't figure out the fuel pump issue. I go to start the vehicle and it literally does nothing it's like I didn't push the clutch in to try to turn the ignition is the way it acts but also you can hear that the fuel pump does not kick on. I'm not 100% on what to do anymore. And yes I've checked all the fuses and relays and they are all good my fuse boxes are getting power to them My battery's good.
