KY Rangers

To help us organize a meet spanning multiple forums, I created a google group. Any of you all in the KY area who might be interested in a meet should join.

It wont be any different on here or other forums, but what this will do is if someone misses the thread or doesn't get on much, once plans are finalized, I can send an email to all members as a notification/reminder.

So please, join. Hopefully it will make things easier for us to get a meet together.
If you have any questions or concerns about joining let me know. This is the first Google group I have made so it's still a bit of an experiment for me. As people join and I figure out how it works I will make adjustments.

https://groups.google.com/group/kentucky-rangers/

Now that we have that out of the way, anyone want to start talking about an early/mid summer meet? or a fall meet?

Hey Michael,

This was a good idea. I'm glad you started this Google group for the KY Ranger owners.

I know a lot of KY Ranger owners go to the Knoxville, TN meet just because there's never a meet around here.

Thanks, I saw that they did this for the Indiana rangers and I thought it would be good. hopefully it will help get to a wider audience. people can join and everyone may be able to stay in touch easier.

I'm going to be building a garage for working on my Rangers in June. Would anyone be interested in helping me out with this?

Yeah, I could use a extra set of hands lifting the walls up and setting the trusses. I'd say if you're going to be designing Aerial lifts and digger derricks for Altec then building a garage should be a cake walk for you.

I used to frame houses....long time ago...but it is like riding a bike...you never forget.....

let me know when you plan to do this...cause I am sure I can help....

quite a few of us here in Western KY-Southwest IN-Northwestern TN get together quite often....but mostly 4 wheelin trips.....

but, we always have a ball around the campfire....and even if you don't wanna take your truck wheelin or have a 2wd you can still ride in an empty seat and hang out.....

Hey John,

It's nice to see we have another Ranger fan in KY. I'm glad you can help me out on this project.
I think I'm going to go with 2X6s 24" OC so I can get more insullation in the walls. What do you think about that?
I have a 4X4 Ranger, but I mainly have it for the snow. I've thought about buying an old beat up 4X4 Ranger to go 4 wheeling with.

looks like lots of fun. my concern is how my basically stock 06 4x4 would do on the places you go. any light trails i could make all right? i'm plannin on getting a new set of rubbers for offroading soon, but other than that I am on stock suspension.

yes there are quite a few "lite" trails......any stock 4x4 can do those.....

my truck had 265/75/15's for stock tires and did the majority of the trails when I first got her....

but like I said before, you could hop in with one of us and ride the more difficult ones.....

we always have a blast and have a good dinner cooked on the grill....

also, Turkey Bay is located in the Land Between the Lakes National Park...so there are plenty of things to do outside of the OHV area as well.....

and if camping isn't your thing...there are 2 KY State Resort Parks on either side of LBL...one bein' KenLake SRP, and Lake Barkley SRP on the other ( I prefer Lake Barkley myself ).....

That looks like a lot of fun. I'm definitely getting a 4X4 beater now. I'll leaning towards a 95 regular cab. I've been looking for an excuse to build a 351 Windsor and put a 427 stroker kit in it. Where exactly are those trails at?

it is at Turkey Bay OHV Area......which is in Land Between the Lakes National Park in Western KY......

some of us are planning to goto Dirty Turtle which is located off I-71 just past LaGrange near Bedford, KY.....if the rain ever stops.....

if anything, maybe those that don't want to wheel we could meet up in Carrolton or LaGrange for a meet and dinner at a restaurant???

just a thought.....
