seat belt not rolling up

seat belt not rolling up

my seat belt stopped rolling up by itself once i get up about two months a go. im getting tired of it. do i need to buy a new seat belt from a junk yard?

Ive always wondered the same...is there a spring or something in the retractor that wears out? Is it serviceable?

Yeah it is but it's just a whole lot easier to get a new one cuz if you mess with it and get in a accedent it might not catch the stop latch.

what size torx head do i need to take out the seat belt? and do i have to get one from a 93-97?

I can't remember what I used before but I think it's a T50 or a T55

is it a saftey hazard or is the locking mechanism not affected? (will affect how fast i get this repair done.) also is any year compatible with my 97?

I'm not sure on hazard part but I would just get it done soon. And any year should work.

Non-working seat belt = two black eyes in a frontal crash when the airbag hits you in the face like a baseball bat.
See it in vehicle rescues all the time.

tomorrow ill see how hard it is to replace and go to my local jy and get one. really dont need to injured in a accident because of a faulty seat belt. thanks for the info.
