I have a 2010 Mazda B4000 4x4 5speed. All in All a Ford Ranger truck. I have both the Mazda owners manual (PDF) and I have the Ford owners manual (PDF). Basically identical information. I did notice though that the tire size mentioned in both is 235/70x16. When I go to Tire Rack and check for tires the tire size is 235/70x16. But my vehicle has 255/70x16 and that is what is on the sticker on door panel too. Just wondering why I have 255's ? Is that the size y'all have? or are y'all mostly 235's?

Just wondering.....not complaining.

 

My stock tires were 245 IIRC, but I put on 265's... the equivalent to 31" tires I believe.

 

maybe they changed them in the newer model years but my 1999 4x4 off road had 235/75/16 and my 2004 had 245/75/16


also 235, 245, 255, 265, etc. defines the width of a tire, not its height. I hate when people compare a width number to a height number smh

 

my 2008 sport 4 wheel has 255- 70 -16 also

 

My 08 was 255/70r16 stock

 

My bad... I did some reading on the subject... My stock tires were 245 75 16, but I put on 265 75 16, so therefore my tire is now about 31" tall.

Hi, I ordered my 2006 Ranger 4x4 Super Cab with the BDF tow package that came with 410 gearing an 255/70/16 tires & special alumin wheels.
My Ranger is a compact ,but yet feels like a 3/4 ton with this package with the 4.0 that really has the guts to tow the load an will launch at the light with the fastest Harley Ultra door to door.
After 8.5 years & 27,000 miles I am still really pleased with my Ford ! Bud

 

What's BDF?

 

I have 245 75 16's now
No lift in body or suspension.
What is the tallest tire I can get away with?
Looking to replace all 4 with an aggressive all season.

My stock ranger has 245/75r16 tires on it. It looks like the right size. Im moving up to 265x75r16 tires, which are just a tad over 31.5 inches and about 10.5 inches wide, so its basically a true 31x10.50, but on the larger side. Only two inches of lift is needed for them really. Or at least cranking the torsion keys up just a little bit.
