Best bet is ebay or a Ford truck forum for used, the guy that was making them was doing it in batches but demand was so low he stopped making them

But there is a new player that makes these to order: https://behemothdrivetrain.com/produ...ift-conversion

Pretty cool to get a "manual shifter" in the cab, pricey, but reliable shifting can be worth it if you use 4WD often or need 4low

If you have a 2000 or earlier Ranger you can get manual hubs and leave transfer case in 4H then just lock or unlock the hubs for 2WD or 4H

Cool! Thanks for the info., Ive got a 2004 and a manual thru-the floor shift would be very cool , but outside my budget.

2001-2005 4x4 systems usual issue is the 4x4CM, in 2004 its behind the radio drivers side

If you turn the selector **** and do not hear a "click" from behind the radio then 4x4CM is most likely bad
In 2004 you can check these fuses, 10, 27 and 28 in Cab fuse box(passenger kick panel)

If you hear the "click" but 4WD lights on dash flash then shift motor on transfer case or its fuse may be the problem
Check fuse 27 in Engine bay fuse box

2004 just has the 3 components on 4x4 system
1. Switch on the dash, NEVER FAILS, unless you hit it with a hammer, these just don't ever go bad, its just 3 resistor inside
2. The 4x4CM, poor design and known failure point
3. Electric shift motor, same model was used from 1983 to 2011 on most Ford 4x4 trucks, F-150./250 and Explorers, they can break, for sure but usually from lack of use, wrecking yards are full of them, you can test them using 12v battery
