Cruise control not working
Cruise control not working
Cruise control not working in my 2009 ford ranger 4.0 4x4. I rarely ever use it. When I press the buttons nothing happens. I did have my drivers air bag replaced a few months ago. Would that have anything to do with it?
Yes, it could have, the airbag and cruise buttons share wiring harness
Cab fuse 20 is main power for Cruise module
There are also 2 brake pedal switches that can deactivate cruise if they are not working
Try the test in this thread: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...problem-57921/
If you can't get cruise light to flash then buttons are unplugged or harness was damaged in some way, assuming fuse 20 is OK

I did that sequence it says in that other thread. The speedo sign flashes on each button press, but after the last button press, I don’t see any more flashes.
So I hold off than press
on - flashes than
rsm - flashes than
cst - flashes than
set - flashes than I heard a noise and than nothing

Sorry I can't take you farther with this, I don't have a later model I can use to test
But if the last button pressed, "set", had one flash it means the test of the buttons and module passed the static test
So at a loss of why cruise won't activate?
