2007 Ranger Intermittent Wiper action
I noticed yesterday when we had some moisture that when I turned on the wipers on the intermittent cycle it would only go up about 1"- 1 1/2" and the stop , when it came time for the next cycle it would continue on and complete the cycle and when it came time for the next cycle same thing, but if you turned in on continuous high or low it would make the full cycle and not hesitate at all. Is this normal for this model year or is my wiper motor starting to go bad? Thanks in advance.

I bet the problem is in the gearbox not the switch.
Something 'loose' is initiating a stop signal then releases or shifts....then the next cycle is OK, is my guess.
How many miles on your '07?
Ha...a Hobbs meter on a wiper motor would be interesting.

Yes, I would agree, it reads like a wiper motor issue not the control
Brief how it works
Wiper motors have a 12volt Park switch that powers the wiper motor for 355deg, so 5deg short of full 360deg circle, that 5deg is when the wipers are down all the way, "Parked", and the 12v is cut off by the switch(picture a round gear with 1 peg sticking up, when that peg hits the switch 12volts is cut off, when peg is not touching the switch 12volts is on)
In low or high the wiper's low or high speed connection gets 12v all the time so Park switch doesn't come into play, when you turn off the control switch the Park 12v takes over until wipers reach the Park position and 12v is cut off, wipers are Parked
With delay/intermittent wiper control the control switch just sends one 12v pulse to Start the wipers moving and the Park 12volts takes over, a timer circuit then sends that 12v pulse again as directed by the control, i.e. long or short delay pause between pulses
So with your description it reads like the Park switch or circuit has failed, and that's inside the wiper motor assembly, you can disassemble it to see whats what
Son had a Camry that Toyota wanted $350 for new wiper motor assemble, Park issue was a broken switch arm, resolder it back in place and all was good
