I've got an 2009 ranger, 4 L engine with no cruise. If I was to buy the parts from a bone yard can they be retro fitted to my truck?

 

there is a chance your truck is prewired for it, im not sure if ford did that in 09, but i know some of the earlier ones were prewired for stuff like cruise, fog lights etc

 

how would I check to see if it's prewired? Only thought I have is to take apart the steering wheel

 

easiest check would be look around the brake master cylinder for a 2 wire connector i believe it is, that would be the plug for the brake deactivation switch

I put factory cruise control in my 96 and it was not prewired. It was not very hard to do. All the parts came off a 96 Explorer except for the cable which came off a 96 Ranger 3.0 that I had to modify to work on my 2.3. you will need the Ford wiring diagram, the servo and cable with as much wiring as possible, the correct clockspring, and the switches. I'm not familiar with the 09 but it may take a different steering wheel. It is totally cool and works great.
