hey i have been thinking on doing this for a lil wile now and wanted to see some pics of them w/stock suspention. something around my style if possible i want to see what it will look like with the rear and if u can still level it off with the t-bars.

i been thinking about that too, but even with the t-bars cranked and chevy shackels installed, the rear will still be a inch or so higher. It may not look tooo bad at first, but will when the t-bars sag.

Don't you have to cut your bed to make those fit? Or am I thinking of something else

 

You're thinking of something else. Since these point down, they don't affect the bed.

 

There are some shackles from Camburg for long travel leaf springs that you have to cut the bed for.

 

thanx jon i saw ur pics but urs was lifted then wanent it, if not did it look ok with the rear being a lil higher then the front?? couldent really tell in the pics

It looked funny at first. Now understand that at one point, I had larger lift blocks, the shackles, and no front lift! I was sitting butt-high for sure.

I took it to Centralia in that state and wheeled it hard and no problems. The shackles can bring the rear back up to where it should be if you have a lot of t-bar crank or whatever.

Most trucks are a little high in the rear to begin with, even 4x4's. I'll see if I can find any pics of the truck with the shackles on, but no lift stuff.

The only potential problem is that the chevy shackles change your pinion angle a bit. Hasn't been a problem that I can tell. I did put pinion wedges in to compensate, but they were junk and cracked into pieces after awhlie (seemed very brittle metal).

 

ok that be great thanx john and ya my truck is like 3" lower in the back than most stock edges i think because they have a 4 leif pack and i have only a 3. just dont know if i can lift the front any more w/t bars dont want to wreck my ront end so i was planning on keeping at same height now.

Find another stock leaf pack and put another leaf in yours -- I did that also to keep from putting in an even bigger block, and to hellp control the heavier tires and axle I have. Not as stiff (or as high) as a purchased "add-a-leaf" -- but if you can scrounge a pack, it's dirt cheap to do.

 

Your rear springs are probably K rated the same as the newer trucks. I had the same thing. As far as adding more leafs to pack with 4 in it already adding 2 springs will yield almost 5 inches of lift. We did it today to Joes trucks. Pics will be up soon. Adding 1 is what you need to do. Or rather add one and add the overload spring. That is what your stock pack is missing compared to the new trucks.
