pinging on heavy acceration.

so my truck has been pinging on heavy loads lately. finally took it to a shop and had my injectors cleaned and it is still doing it...dont ask how much it cost me. before i let them do it i asked if they did it thru the fuel rail or just in the tank, gave me some garbage about 3 step process thru the rail, something else and thru the tank. i was on E so after that i went and got gas. i did the seafoam in the spring and it helped, should i do it again.

also another thing is after the first seafoam i started to notice mysterious oil loss. i might post another thread for that issue.

i know you're supposed to change your oil after you seafoam.. i think the seafoam breaks down the oil or something similiar

If you put seafoam in the oil, then you need to change the oil. Otherwise it has no effect on oil.

Cheap low octane fuel or maybe the thermostat is sticking partially closed raising the engine temperature .Some people have used a 180* thermostat to help correct pinging.

Clean your MAF
Check your O2 sensors

#1 cause for ping on the Ranger is lean mixtures.
I fatten up the mixture 5% and it solves most pinging (due to mods).
If it has always pinged, that is another issue, entirely!
