Car seat questions with new baby on the way:)

If you havn't heard by now we are expecting on 2-5-09. I got a couple of questions though first about car seats for my extended cab ranger.

First: What brand of baby seat do you have?

Second: Does the seat come out of the back pretty easily?

Third: Does the platform(the device that the baby seat actually attaches to) fit securely to the jump seats?

From time to time I used to have a baby seat in the back for my nephew and niece and I had to manuver the seat quite a bit to get it in there. So let me know what experinces you all have had with them.

Thanks:

Matt

ps. Also, if you didn't see my classified section I am looking for pretty much any baby item that are wanting to sell or just simply were just going to give away to like a salvation army or some place like that. Let me know what you got and if you were just going to give it away I will pay for the shipping.

i had a small child seat mounted in the jump seat behind the driver on my '88 ranger s/c. it stayed in there and i would just take my daughter in and out. it was held in by tarp straps as well as the seat belt going through the framework. dont recall the brand, i had got it used. i darn sure couldnt put it up front with me and my wife, even with the split bench the front seat is a 2-seater. i have no baby stuff anymore. "she" is a teenager now. (sigh)

Contact Gumby, he built a pretty cool car seat rack that goes where the jumpseats go.

The pictures of it were removed from photobucket, but if you want to checkout the thread anyway its here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=29161

I was told by the police child seat installer never under any sercumstance to put a rear facing car seat in the back. You can put a forward facing car seat but they have to be like 1yr old or somthing

Just put the rear facing seat in the passenger seat. It will fit just fine. Push the passenger seat all the way toward the back and shut off the airbag.

if you have to go somewhere (all 3 of you) you sit in the back wife drives or she sits in the back which ever works out best. I have done it before sacrfice you have to make having a child and small truck
