I thought Colorado used magnesium chloride like Oregon...? That stuff isn't anywhere near as corrosive as sodium chloride.

I clean the underside of my truck every time it is above freezing in the winter since I've been here. But they have just been using SO much salt for so little snow... grr

Yeah, I think they switched it up to Mag Chloride a few years back....and you're right it isn't nearly as bad as the salt. Still isn't the best thing though, which is why I make it a habbit of cleaning my trucks as much as possible.

Its just hard to fathom an 07 starting to rust.

Yeah the bottom of the doors is literally the weakest link as far as painted surface son the Rangers.

My 2000 has 130k and I had only 3-4 over a quarter size rust spots when I got it. Bottom of the tail gate which I just sanded down and repainted in DSG, on the corner sof the bed at the bottom which I also sanded and repainted, the inside of the bed is rusted out but soon to be replaced (that was due to a cheapo bed liner though), and of course the bottom of the doors.

The seals on the bottom of those doors are just junk. Flat out junk. Like I said before I have heard that 2-3 years in early 90s (maybe 93-95 or 94-95) the doors had a sealant put on them that kept them from rusting but after that they were all made without it. I need to start digging for a set of those doors lol.

@Justin what year/style F-150 did those 4x4 stickers come off of

My old ranger hit 120k a couple weeks ago. So with the tires I had on for a while probably about 125k-128k. Not bad for a 13 year old truck.

They are from a 2010 F-150 stepside. You can get them in silver, beige or the DSG type color mine are. I ordered them before the stepsides were available. They are wasy to get now.

Man your truck looks great! My 99 3.0 5 speed 4wd has almost 254K and still running like a champ! Just curious those look like 33's on it. How does the 3.0 react with those over the stock 245/75/16s?

x2 on my 99 but i was only at 139k ... bought it at 90k and it had mostly freeway miles from going to wisconsin and back, 2 trips to oregon, and 1 to arizona. (actually went to arizona twice when i owned it but one of the trips i drove a 2000 subaru outback i was helping a friend sell)
