5.oooooooooo yeah

Picked up a working 5.0 fuel injected engine, c4 auto transmission, and a Borg-Werner 1356 manual t-case for my BroncoII.

Final price.... $250. I love good ol' boys who support the military. Def worth the 4 hour drive there and back.

Couldn't even tell there was weight in the bed. Alot more bumpy, but same gas milage

If only she was out of warranty. Just can't break myself to tear out an engine with only 11k mile on it.

effin steal man.

Looks like its gonna be a whole lotta fun. what is the 5.0 out of? Is it the secks version out of the Mustang with the mass air, roller cam and forged pistons?

yeah i see the truck intake, but still... my friend had a roller 5.0 in an 88 Bronco that was out of a Mustang. It got better milage and had good power in that big bastard.

the guy i bought it from wasn't too sure of it's past. It just came out of a full size 87 Bronco and ran. Is there a way to check Steve?

well, not really without pulling the intake that i know of to check for the roller cam. As far as the heads... probably E7 heads.

If its the original engine out of the Bronco, its not a roller cam engine or forged pistons so doh! Still a good engine though and they can make some sick power still.

I have a customer I've sold to for years, that did a 5.0 Explorer swap into his 01 Ranger Supercab 2wd, he gets 20+mpg with it..........

He's now in the process of the same engine swap into a 03 Edge except he's usin the AWD setup from the Explorer.

Thats going to be sick with an AWD setup..!

And as for the OP - That is a thign of beauty right there! I love old Bronco's!! Wish you could dump that engine/tranny setup into your own ranger - but as you mentioned earlier - you just dont want to do that to a young ranger..!

Why thank you! Ha.

I took it over to our base's automotive shop. Separated the engine from the tranny/t-case. Alot dirtier than I expected. But for $250, I'm not complaining.

if you can find a running c4 that's a stick, i'll be more than glad to trade. i don't know how to drive stick... so it'd be a great way to learn.
