Got some new subs... kinda
I upgraded my system this weekend. The subs that are in their currently are shot. One dosent even work and the other works pretty good but has tears that are taped.
I ordered these to replace the P3's. They shold be here tomorrow. Alpine SWE-1243 Type-E 12" single 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com
The amp and wireing kit used to be Beards. Thanks again.
System specs are
- MA Audio 1000w 4 channel
- 2 Rockford Fosgate P3's (12's)
- 4 guage wireing kit
Soon to come
- Apline Type E (12's)
I built the platform the subs sit on today. I mounted the amp underneith it. I think it turned out pretty good.

I am sure my Type E's are going to work and sounds just fine. Alpine dosent make a ****ty product in any price range.
I could have boughten 20 other subs that where cheaper and I am sure all those would have worked just fine too.
Just because they're not $200 each dosent mean they wont work and work well. My buddy has 2 Rockford Fosgate P1's and those are $100 each and they sound great.

good luck man.. E = Entry model.. they are bare minimum specs and are not meant for anything great... there is a reason tehy're cheap.. you pay for what you get with subs.. You could have even got just 1 Type R and it would have been better..just my 2 cents.. I've heard both and seen the E's not last

The type E's are $40 more then the P1's, do you think your subs are cheap?

that deck you made, you can make your amp last 10X longer, make sure the front is fully enclosed, and enclose almost all of 1 side, put 2-3 computer cooling fans in the side, blowing air in, i believe you can get 12v comp cooling fans, hook them up, with a relay, to the remote power on your amp, make sure that your amp is on the opposite side to the fans, so it blows past everything before your amp, that way, if you have an external cross over or other items under there, you aren't heating them up, you are cooling everything

mine were cheap in cost, but i am really happy with them.
keep in mind ive gone through a pioneer 10", Elemental design 18", and two 15" diamond audio subs
all were nice, but these rockfords are close to the best sq wise, i think the diamonds still had em beat though.

The subs will sound fine. Alpine makes quality products. Not to mention you won't be bumping them like competition subs.
P1's are entry level subs as well...but mine hit hard as hell. Maybe not the best sound quality, but they are more then enough for me. Jake, you've heard mine and are pleased. Your subs will sound the same, if not better.
