Nice!!! All's I can say is I can't wait for it to snow, on days we get alot of snow I let me mom take my truck and I take her car.

I am SO jealous. IF I were to own a car again, it would be one of these. I LOVE the styling of them, and the fact that they're AWD.

 

Yes, I can not wait to play with it in the snow, haha. The LGT has a rear limited slip too, so it should be pretty fun. I think the first suspension mod will be a bigger rear sway bar. Eventually I want to lower it (about 1") with firmer shocks, and front and rear sway bars, but the rear bar alone should even things up a bit in the corners. Or it will make it a little easier to push the rear end out in corners, muhaha.
Fortunately my wife is easily influenced when it comes to cars. I think I have picked out every one of her cars since we have been together. I always want a truck, but I love having a nice car to play with on the weekends too, so it works out!
She liked all of the other cars we looked at too, but I was sold on the LGT after I checked one out. It just seemed to have a lot more to offer for the price, compared to a GTI or A3. Plus the reliability ratings on the late model VWs and Audis were pretty bad. The interior is a bit bigger and roomier, and adults can fit in the back seat. Safety ratings are all great, the AWD will help her a lot (she hates winter driving), and it is slightly better equipped than her last car. She didn't want to have to downgrade after an accident that wasn't even our fault, so this works out well. I searched a lot of Subie forums and the modded cars I found helped me decide for sure that I wanted this, and it convinced her too. The same thing happened when I bought the F150, had all my mods planned out before I even bought one, lol.

I love those gauges. If I am ever to get a car or can talk the old lady into letting me pick her car it will be a LGT

Yeah I guess...? Kind of an odd thing to put there, should have been a boost gauge instead. I found that subaru sells a really clean gauge pod that sits in the cubby above the stereo with boost, oil pressure and oil temp, but they want like $600 for it!

The digital display in there also displays actual mpg and average for each trip odometer. It wasn't 100% accurate when I calculated mileage after filling up but it does about the same as a scan gauge.

 

I like that car! Clean, simple but sporty

My family had an 05' GT about a year ago with some moderate mods, it was fun being able to haul 5 and still beat/out-handle almost any car beside you.

Sweet car...I like the factory wheels and powder-coating them gray is a great idea...That would look damn good.

 

Man oh man. It is so hard to decide on a catback trying to decipher the sound of youtube videos...
Especially when most of the people who post videos also have catless down pipes, intakes, etc that all change the sound.

I want 18's but I think these look good and I could save some money for now. I would like to replace the tires if nothing else, everyone says these stock tires are horrible, especially in the winter.

 

Oh and I'm testing paint on some stuff in the garage right now (for the grille, headlights, fog surrounds).
I tried baking one of my old F150 headlights to pull it apart and try it out but was unsuccessful. They are gooped with tons of sealant in/on them. I reheated three times and gave up with them. It seemed that I had separated 1/2 to 2/3 of it by prying, but they pieces would not start to come apart no matter how I tried. I hope it is just the F150 head lights, because I checked an F150 forum and half of them said it came right off, no problem. The other half tried and tried and lots of them gave up. lol
Those who pulled the legacy head lights off seemed to have a much easier time. I hope it works that way for me!

 

Brian try putting a wet rag underneath them in the oven, sometimes that helps. You use a heat gun too, you don't have to use a oven.

 

I'll try that. I gave up on the F150 light today, my back was killing me hunched over trying to pry that sob apart. Maybe I need to get a heat gun I don't know...

 

Sweet, I like LGT's a lot. I would deff put the access port a little higher up on your list though. You should defiantly get the most gains out of that compared to anything else.

 

Korey I may end up wanting the accessport sooner. I have really only driven it from Chicago straight to the house. As I drive it more I'll decide if I want to spend money on performance stuff or suspension first. I suppose I could think about a used accessport.

Some of the roads here really suck so I have to be careful about which lowering springs I get. What I have in mind are some 1" lowering springs that are a little firmer than stock, and adjustable tokico shocks. That combo has been said to firm the ride up a little, while reducing body roll and squat, without being harsh or bottoming out much. Although the first suspension mod I would like is a bigger rear sway bar to get rid of the body roll and awd understeer.
