I was talking about the 06 baja, sorry I should have been more specific. The zip ties comment was made since they are holding on the license plate and someone made a comment in his thread asking what he was gonna do.

Question still stands.

waiting till I find a 8 lug d44, and doing a leaf spring conversion. so I'm going to build a bumper with the mounts on it. to lazy to take the horns off lol. my tires don't really touch them, so I haven't bothered with moving them. I will when I put 35's on.

simple proven concept. all the rigs I wheel with are on leafs all around, and they do great. mainly just shooting for simplicity. losing flex doesn't bother me, because the right leaf spring set up will flex just fine. I love my coils, and they flex awesome, but I'm getting tired of them.

There's a reason you don't see many leafs anymore under decently built and set-up rigs. You've got a great setup with TONS of aftermarket support for bolt-on parts. Why not build onto an already good setup and apply it to the upgraded axle?

I see your reasoning though. When I go out with friends 'cause my truck isn't quite as capable, there's TONS of yota's on leafs. Then they get their butts handed to them in 3-link yota's of similar size and tires and diff setups.

isn't necessarily a downgrade....depends on what type of leaf pack he uses....

a really arched "lift" leaf spring will never flex hardly at all...you need a relatively flat spring that can reverse arch....

that is true, but there is a MAJOR cost to those so-called bolt-ons....

and again, all the Toyota guys I have wheeled with with SAS's have had some pretty short really arched leaves and majority of thier flex came from the rear....

and that was limited by my tires hitting the fenders....which I have trimmed some more...

most people say that dropping a 40 below the rocker panel is some pretty good flex.....
