My project truck

Figure I'd show off what else I've been up to. Its a 1986 Ford Bronco XLT, 302 4 barrel, C6, manual t-case, 9" rear, 4" Superlift.

When I saw it:

Got it home:

Interior:

33's:

Stereo:

302:

Let me know what ya'll think. I only have about $300 into it so far including purchase.

Looks like an awesome trail rig. Stick some 35's under it! I love that style front end.

Next on the list for replacement is the hood, 35's and a 351W. I bought it to use as my beater rig.

Glad you didnt pay a whole lot for that. I loved my 86. I put that thing through hell and back. Just couldnt afford another engine (went through like 3, damn puddles and ****ty intake mounting. I also had the 5.0, so the intake was right above the radiator.) Now I love my 93. Nothing better then a FSB. I love them, espically that body style and interior. Your gonna enjoy that truck.

Good Luck w/it.

Only bought it cause it was $100, and I was able to drive it home. I like it so far.

You can't beat it!!! I like the little things you did like painting the grille and engine accents.

Great start man. The blue looks sick. I did the same thing crazymikey did to his door handle trim and center console trim in a color close to that.

What paint did you use and what was the process? I'm a noob and I seem to be decent at painting so I'm curious. I'd love to make my engine look like that.

I don't have the money, it's mainly a school project. It'll be a while before it's legal and such.

I got the paint at autozone, its a metalcast paint, its pretty simple. First you prime, then the silver basecoat, then the paint, then clear. Just be patient. I'll get the names of the paint tomorrow. I might just do a write up for ya if you want.

That is exactly what I used on my interior. I used the Duplicolor acrylic black for the door panels and dashboard. Then trimmed the door handle trims, the center console trim and the center console air-vents with Ground Coat and then the blue Metalcast. I also used a Duplicolor clear-coat over everything.

All the Duplicolor stuff is amazing and really easy to use. When I applied the Ground Coat initally it looked like a silver-glitter Barbie party and I was thinking WTF???? but once the color goes on...man!

Great thread.
