Well I know this is a crap picture... but my girlfriend just cuaght it on her cell from the deck..I was just pulling out some stumps from dead trees in her back yard for her parents... bumper did great..as did the truck lol

What size stumps by the way? Probably some smaller ones, even a big truck cant handle anything much more then 6+ inches across without some digging

haha nice. I pulled out a bunch of those nasty big 70's bushes/trees around my friends house one day, worked awesome and was good times

lol aint that the truth .... years back this girl i know's dad calls me and asks if my dads still got the bronco ... so i go over there and idled out these crappy bushes in 4 lo ... then notice all the rubber on the street .... apparently his 2wd 89 f250 was having some trouble.

as for the stump, it was probably about a 5-6" wide tree..really the truck did great.. but it in 4Hi...and with my motor and gears it produces PLENTY bottom end, didn't slip at all..

I pulled out a stump last weekend that was about 2 ft in diameter. I had to dig around it and cut most of the roots then cut it into three pieces. I couldn't even get it to wiggle in one piece. Once I cut it into three pieces and split it with a wedge, the pieces came out one at a time but it was not easy.

I just looped the hoop of my tow strap around the ball on the receiver hitch and it work well. I was surprised how much abuse the tow strap stood up to. It is over 30 years old.

 

I have yanked a total of 11 bushes/trees out of my yard in the passed 2 years.... and have made some observations.

1) the 20,000lb strap from tractor supply isnt strong enough.

2) the larger the bush, the more problems.

3) pulling on concrete is easier than on the lawn....

4) 4wd is a must.

5) placing a steel rod inside the loop where it goes around the trunk makes for easy removal of the strap

6) dont cut your strap in half like I did (oops)

The 4 pine trees I pulled out went the easiest, as did the 2 bushes along side my house - Mind you I didnt dig them up at all, just hooked up and pulled.

the large bush in front of my garage, and the 4 in front of my house were the worst. However you must understand these were very large bushes, with trunks exceeding 1ft acrossed.

The front of the house was the absolute worst... as they were the biggest.... 10ft high over 8ft in diameter... After the 4th bush, I decided to cut the trunks off belonw ground and bury them....

When pulling out bushes remember to use the weight of your truck to your advantage and dont just sit their with your foot on the gas in 4low thats really bad for your truck...
