The injectors were also a problem in the 04-05 models. I would pass on it personally.

That plug change is going to be expesive, trust me mines in the shop right now for it. Be prepared to pay up to $500 to have them changed.

nice truck cam!! hey i've been where you are now and its sucks about your truck but exciting at the same time to get another one...Just be paitent and BE A WELL INFORMED BUYER!! i didnt realize all the issues with f-150's either but now hearing what im hearing if i were you i would either just stay away from them of just make sure you have hard core evidence of the services in question!! Dont jump into something you may regret later!! like i said before just take your time and IF you find something you want take a few extra days to look around a lil more..you may be surprised and glad at what MAY JUST POP UP!!! LOL!!

It has a 6" procomp lift with 20" moto metals and 35x13.50 mickey thompson ATZs, black leather, and a sunroof! It has a good bit of miles, but the motor sounds good and it shifts perfectly. The only flaw is a crack in the windshield and the wore out brakes, which shouldn't be hard fixes. I'm hoping the insurance gets back to me soon so I can pick it up this weekend!
Yea, i have never own 1 personally , but my dad add a 05 and it was 1 of the scrapiest truck my dad even add, he had the spark plug seize a 80k, they add to take the head off to get them out, fortunately on warranty, another thing with is all the electrical problem it add, the computer and few other thing add to be change at 110k, the truck was sold right after... have on top of a 6 inch lifted with 35s truck with 120 k miles is suggesting the front end could be of a issue soon..i say if you buy this soon your gona have to put lot of money in. and they burn way more gas then a ranger, at this price, it is something to think about.what i think is you should wait, if you really want a f-150 buy 1 at a better price, then lift it yourself...i say it is a mistake, but the truck does look good, i agree

Totally forget about this thread for a bit. it sounds like the repair shop was pretty fair, i defiantly think that the 04-07 trucks were slick, but like everyone has said, Spark plug issues on those suck. especially for the guy that has to fix them.
<-- this guy.

Havent been on in a couple weeks to see this thread when it started. That sucks about your truck, but I hate when I see so many people bashing our LE.

That SCREW is awesome, but as many people said keep your options open.

Injectors and spark plugs are what come to mind. I think they're making a mountain out of a molehill. Some have issues, others never do. My Dad has an 05 F-150 work truck with over 150,000 and has never had a problem.

Are the spark plugs that hard to get to?

I mean is it something that a person with average mechanic skills can do in their drive way in a few hrs?

the factory got the bright idea to install 2pc plugs....when it come time to change 6 outta 8 would snap in two in the block...then you have to get a proff. welder to get them out and its a PITA!!! they now have a 1pc plug you can install.....and i agree not all f-150's had probs. give the OP a lil room! im sure he appreciates the advice and knowledge but DAYUM!!! LOL!!! if he has his mind and money set on that truck then i say go for it!! but just be aware that there MAY be some issues with it that you MAY have to deal with...GOOD LUCK with it and we're here for ya when you have questions or need advice about it!! thats what we're here for!!

Yes they can be. I have decent mechanic skills and I thought it was a royal pain in the ***, ended up having it towed to ford. Its just one of those things you need to plan for when changing the plugs, you need to be prepared for them all breaking. Tools wise and money wise

Not at all, you don't have to be a welder to get them out. No idea where you heard that. A lot of guys remove them all successfully, Zabeard and Bucky had no breaks with theres. I had 3 come out fine and 5 break. Lisle makes a extractor tool to get them out

all 8 of mine were going to break. I said f it and sold the truck.

they also have cam phaser issues. Alot of people ignore the issue, but when I had mine, I heard of 2-3 trucks loose motors becuase of them.

I loved my f150, Id never buy one again though. At least with the 5.4

He just knew man. The bond between that man and his trucks is so deep he can put your ear to the hood and it tells him everything. EVERY-THING.
