There is plenty of places where 2wd is all you need then there are spots where 40's, 4wd, and lockers front and back are not enough.
If by smoker you mean your F350....they don't do well down in Wharton. The mud just goes on and on. Getting one of those stuck and you would get stuck are near impossible to get out. There are places in Wharton where trucks with tractor tires could get stuck.

Bryan is right about the Super Dutys, they love to sink out there. One year we had an SD out there with 40" tires and a big lift. It bottomed out and we needed two trucks with winches and ****** blocks, as well as two more trucks as anchors to pull it out. That's one I wish we had on video.
