I never understood why people only get liability only, because if you total out a vehicle than your completely out one now its not that much for for full insurance..
I dont know I can understand it. If your truck is only worth 2,000 dollars and your insurance is more than that a year why keep putting money into it that long when nothing happens? Sure they will give you 2,000 dollars if you total your car but after years of paying 2,000 dollars it just doesnt make since.

It just don't make sense to pay more than your car is worth in yearly insurance premiums.

2. I wasn't implying anything was given. You were ahead of most 16-17 year olds, most can't afford $3,000+ a year for it.

I bought a '94 f-150 back in March and I only have liability on that and full on the ranger. One is worth $3,000 and the other is worth over $10,000. Why have the extra bill? Smarter to just have a savings account. (with money in it!)

I'm with Motorcraft. Why is does everyone like to be so negative on here? Heck, I posted a thread about my laptop not working and all it did was start an argument that I shouldn't have bought that particular brand.

I am glad to hear you are ok! Keep us posted on what your future brings for a truck.

glad to see your not dead. that sucks about the truck but things can be replaced. people can't.

as for the insurance, sometimes an older vehicle isn't worth getting everything. the car or truck might only cost a person 3-5k. therefore insurance companies will give you only 2-2.5k if it gets written off. why get the "whole package" when all you need is liabilty to cover the tool who might hit you or who hits you.

so yes, your paying alot more then the car is worth in the long run, but your not breaking the law by doing it.
when i was younger and got insurance, i paid $200/month for liability only on an 85 bronco. the truck was too old (i got it in 99/y2k) for all the bells and whistles. my broker told me that my only option was liability since i would get denied insurance if i tried to get everything. the truck cost me $5k. i paid 2400 a year for the two years i drove it.
i lost money, however, i never had any issues with worrying about not having insurance.

HOLY SH*T!!! Could have been a lot my friend!! Glad you're o.k. The Splash is done for, but at least you walked away.

As for all the bashers on here, go find something productive to do. Attacking this guy over insurance coverage and such. It always amazes me to read these posts with the guys/gals with nothing positive to say. You obviously weren't raised with any manners what-so-ever. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep you fu*king mouth shut!!

Sorry about the truck. Looked like you took good care of it and it paid it back with saving your life. I have seen many accidents like this from trees and alot of older people don't have insurance. My friend at work let is roommate take his beemer and a guy pulled out in from of him and smacked up his beemer. This kid is old as i am but he had no insurance of his own on the car instead his mom covered him. Worst part is he still owes on the car too. So seeing that his truck is that old he would have been lucky to get 1k from the insurance company anyways. Just be glad his is ok and still alive to talk about it.

Why dont you find something better to do with your damn time?

And let me inform you on alittle secret, I didnt WRECK my car. My tire ripped apart at 80mph, that isn't the same as driving like an idiot and hitting a tree.

Shut your mouth until you know what really happened, k?

Sorry but I find it rather annoying to have people talk sh*t about things they know nothing about.

The tires and whole care you were supposed to look over so well when you traded your truck for it?

Speeding on tires that are shot, well let me tell you a little secret, its not a good idea.
