1994 B2300 Clutch Question
1994 B2300 Clutch Question
Recently I smell something burning from the bottom of the car after finish driving my truck. When I get out of the truck, it looks like the smell comes from the bottom of the car (not 100% sure). I looked around and did not see anything wrong. Some say the clutch is about to fail, and that's what the smell is from. Please advise.
1994 B2300 man. transmission with 397K. The clutch was replaced first time at 200K (approx)

Not much to go on
Usual "burning smell" from a vehicle is an oil leak from valve cover getting on exhaust system
Friction material, i.e. brakes or clutch, has a unique smell
Check clutch fluid level
A clutch will only smell when its "slipping", easy to feel that when starting off, you let foot off the pedal but vehicle doesn't jump forward, just slowly moves forward

It is definitely a unique smell from brakes or clutch. I recently replaced my rear brake shoes/drums but did not smell anything after replacement (2 months ago). One thing I noticed when I was driving on the freeway. Let's say, at around 50 mph I press on the clutch pedal, I feel the car suddenly rides bumpier. It is hard to tell if it is the road or not. And when I let go of the clutch, the car is back to normal. Of course, it doesn't do that at low speed.
The clutch fluid level is good.
Please advise.
