I have a 1987 ford ranger with a 2.3 and there is a crack in the block... I found a 2.3 out of a 92 with 8 plug wires to replace it with. Is this a major issue or will these engines swap easy? Don't know that much about these engines in particular so any advice would be appreciated. Both truck have manual gearbox.

 

The Block is slightly different. If you got a good 8 plug head with it, that is better if your building more power. If you are using your old head, a older block would fit better.
