33" on a 4 Banger?

Hey guys. New to the forum. I've had my '98 for a few years and have been talkin about liftin her since before I had it(it was my dads truck). Finally fell into some money and it's in the works. So what do you guys think about throwin 33x12.5x15 on my 2.5L. I've already got the body lift and I've got those Belltech 6400's on the way. I'll crank the T bars cuz I've seen that helps too. What's your input?

Not so good with the mechanic speak either; what's "sohc"?? You and the other guy disagreed on the regearing...big difference or little difference?

guys, he's got a 4 banger (4cyl) not 4L

33's on a 4cyl is a bad idea if you want to get moving at any speed close to hiway, but with the right gearing, you can spin them in the mud... i wouldn't want to go much bigger than 33's with that motor

your 2.5L has 119hp and about 150 torque, so 33's are going to be big, but should be ok with MINIMUM 4.10's (you can pick 4.10's up at any junk yard)

I don't wanna go bigger than 33's with this moter either.lol. That's seriously pushing the envelope. Thanks for your input. I'm gonna go to my junk yard tomorrow morning. I never even thought of that.

make sure you get gears for front and rear, and they will either fit your housing, or you get the new housings

What coils should I get to lift the front up just a little bit more after the body lift. Cuz I'm puttin the Belltech's on the back and I figure there may be a little rake? I want it to be leveled out ya know.

Well somebody said I was coil sprung. I think you may be thinking of the 4.0L Rangers, not the 4 cylinders. I think they have torsion bars. My little engine has coil springs.

You can pick up some coils from Springtech on Ebay for cheap. Or get some spacers in the front.

Here's is 5.5" of lift with 32's on our generation trucks:

I'd get at least 4.10's for the rear. I had 3.73's with my 32's and it would not hold O/D on the highway for long, and that's with a 3.0. Now I have some 4.56's and couldn't be happier.

98+
4x4 =Torsion bars
Edge,Sport 2wd=Torsion bars
2wd xl,xlt,stx = coilsprings
he has a 4banger 2wd so he has a xl or xlt with coilsprings

didnt comment on 97 and older i just dont know enough about them and dont want to spread bad info
