92 2.3 wont run, help

i was going to work last night when my truck started to stall like it wasnt getting fuel so i turned around to go back home and it would keep gettting worse it would kill then id roll start it in 4th and it would run for a shorter period of time every time i did it, so it ended up stopping and i had nothing so i walked home and drove my dads truck, when i tryed starting it today the fuel pump would cycle but it was almost like it wasnt pumping, it has gas in it, it did this to me before about a month ago but then it just worked after i let it sit, so i have no idea what to do, im thinkin the fuel pump is shot but what r your guys imput on this.

have you ever changed the fuel filter?
it is a 92 so it could be the pump.
