My 93 ranger with 2.3 misses/jumps when accelerating at mid throttle it runs fine at idle and WOT. I replaced the plugs, wires, and fuel filter. I did a self scan with a jump wire and got codes 223 (loss of dual plug inhibit control), 224(erratic IDM input to processor), and 998(hard fault present). So I was wondering if anyone has any solutions or has ran into this problem also? I would greatly appreciate any help.

 

Ok so I determined it was the ICM by switching the coil packs around and running off the front coil pack only buy the way it ran without missing at all on the one pack. I replaced the ICM $140 cleared the codes and it still misses just like before (unless the rear coil pack is unhooked) I then ran the codes again and Im not getting any codes at all so Im thinking timing? Any ideas? I need some help with this bad. Also does anyone know if it will hurt to run off the ignition side coil pack only?
